The future of AI in Marketing: Q&A with Mohammed Seedat of IN4 Group

At the conference, Mohammed Seedat, a Web3 and Metaverse Specialist from IN4 Group, spoke on the Future of Digital Marketing panel. Seedat has been instrumental in developing the Gametech365 programme, a 12-month scale-up initiative for indie video game studios and immersive tech start-ups.

In an interview, Seedat shared insights into the role of AI in marketing:

  1. AI as a Copilot: AI's role is evolving from autopilot to copilot, allowing marketing teams to prompt AI for specific tasks, making them more creative and productive. Tools like OpenAI's Enterprise ChatGPT enhance these capabilities with advanced data analysis and customisation options.

  2. Fostering AI-Friendly Cultures: Seedat emphasised the importance of embracing AI, understanding its applications, centralising data sources, and collaborating with AI experts. Ethical considerations and continuous experimentation with AI tools are also crucial.

  3. Upskilling in AI: Marketers should stay updated on AI advancements, attend specialised courses, and engage in hands-on workshops. Seedat recommended the free Google ‘Introduction to Generative AI’ course and highlighted the importance of practical experience with digital marketing tools.

  4. Maximising AI Potential: Seedat advised on understanding generative AI through prompt engineering and using different types of prompting (instruction, role, question, and context) to get better results.

  5. Recommended Marketing Tools:

    • SEO and Keywords: Ubersuggest by Neil Patel, Answer the Public.

    • Creativity: Midjourney, Canva.

    • Generative AI: Google Bard, ChatGPT, Claude.

Seedat also discussed the potential of Greater Manchester as a tech hub, attracting talent and investment in AI and digital marketing. He highlighted the region's potential for academia-industry collaborations, driving innovation and practical applications of AI in marketing.
